On the request of Europol the EMail provider Protonmail had to provide the IP address of an activist who is targeted by the law enforcement.
Although Protonmail offers fully encrypted EMail services, meta data like IP addresses are still available and in this example it is shown that a company still has to abide the law enforcement, no matter how hard they try to protect their customers.
